Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Adama Traore is finally coming into form.

The Spanish star has been a regular target for criticism this term due to not producing goals and assists.

Traore was officially on zero goals or assists as of a few weeks ago, but has responded with one goal and two assists in his last three games.

Pundits were lining up to take a pop at Traore for not living up to his own hype.

One such pundit was Glen Johnson, who recently said: “Traore is strong and quick but he doesn’t do anything.

“For the pace and threat that he has, he should be amongst most of the goals, creating goals or certainly creating chances, but he doesn’t do that.

“People say how hard he is to play against, well just let him have the ball.

“If you’re playing against him he’s not going to do anything.”

The perfect response

Johnson’s comments were lazy, and he’s now been left with egg on his face.

Not only has Traore come into form with three goal contributions, but they were all of the highest quality – especially the assist against West Ham.

And arguably, Traore has been Wolves’ best player since those comments were made at the end of February.

Hopefully Traore will make it his mission to make the likes of Johnson look even more foolish in the weeks to come.
