Wolves stadium bombshell as talks underway with request made to city council

Jeff Shi has just made things ten times worse for himself, but there were a couple of surprise comments in his Wolves interview.

The protest outside the Billy Wright Stand fell on deaf ears as the Wolves staff shut the blinds prior to kick-off against Manchester United.

But now, out of nowhere, Jeff Shi has come out and given an interview on all things Wolves.

Symptomatic of the club’s situation right now, there were a few comments that were better left unsaid. Including the relegation comment that proves just how out of the loop Shi is at Wolves.

What are your honest thoughts on Jeff Shi after his claim about relegation for Wolves? Let us know below!

Yes. He actually said this…

The majority of the interview just felt like beating around the bush and playing things down, rather than accepting the deep, underlying issues at the club.

However, there was one slight surprise.

Jeff Shi reveals Wolves stadium plans for Steve Bull stand

There were plans in the summer to add around 8,000 new seats to take the capacity of Molineux to 40,000, in turn creating more revenue for Fosun.

However, it had gone silent. Until now.

Jeff Shi, when speaking to the BBC Birmingham and Black Country, revealed how Wolves are working on a deal with a partner to potentially rebuild part of the Steve Bull stand and will hopefully have an offer to potentially proceed this month.

However, Shi has requested more support from the Wolverhampton Council.

What we took away from Jeff Shi’s stadium comments

The fact that Shi used the words potentially, hopefully, and potentially again says it all.

It seems to be a smokescreen for everything that is going on at Wolves right now. An attempt to make it look like there is some kind of reinvestment and interest in bettering the club.

It’s all good potentially expanding and redeveloping a stand, but you’ll have a hard time filling it when playing Championship football.

But of course, in Jeff’s eyes, it’s ‘not that serious’ to be relegated, so all is well.
