Wolves send message directly to Sasa Kalajdzic after injury as club confirm next step

Wolves have confirmed that striker Sasa Kalajdzic will be undergoing surgery later this week, after he suffered another ACL injury.

The 26-year-old went down in the opening stages of Eintracht Frankfurt’s Bundesliga match with SC Freiburg on Sunday, and was withdrawn after just 11 minutes.

Kalajdzic immediately clutched his knee, sparking real concerns.

Just a day later, Eintracht confirmed worst fears that Kalajdzic had suffered damage to his cruciate ligament. It is the third serious knee injury of his career.

Fans on social media were left gutted, and the club have today sent a message to the player that Wolves supporters far and wide will reiterate…

Kalajdzic is now looking at another lengthy spell on the sidelines following his latest setback.

The knee injuries he had at Stuttgart and Wolves put him out for 10 and 12 months respectively, so this new injury could mean a similar lay-off.

Wolves have today addressed the injury to Kalajdzic, writing a message across their social media channels.

The club have stated that Kalajdzic will be undergoing surgery later this week. It is unclear whether this will be in Germany or England.

When Kalajdzic suffered his last knee injury for Wolves, he was looked after by surgeon Dr. Andy Williams at the Cromwell Hospital in London (via The Athletic).

Sending a message directly to the player, Wolves said: “The whole pack are thinking of you Sasa.”

A horrible blow for Kalajdzic

So Kalajdzic’s surgery will take place later this week and it’s awful to think that he is having to go through this again.

For a professional footballer to suffer one ACL injury is bad enough. But this is the third time now for Kalajdzic and that must take a very big toll mentally.

He is going to need huge support during his latest setback, and he will no doubt get that from the pack.

It’s possible his Molineux career is in some jeopardy now, but hopefully he can defy the odds and pull on the Old Gold shirt once again in the future.
