Wolves have had a searing start to the summer transfer window however, fans may be left disappointed after the latest update.
Gary O’Neil made his expectations in the summer transfer window clear, as his Wolves squad was left short on depth in 2023/24.
The Old Gold showed glimpses of their strength last season under O’Neil although, a lack of options within the side saw the Midlands club coast to a 14th-place finish.
That being said, the manager has conducted a strong start to the transfer window at Molineux, with four new faces already in line to bolster the squad ahead of 2024/25.

Wolves summer transfer budget made clear as Jorgen Strand Larsen dubbed the most expensive arrival
Last summer was a difficult time for Wolves, who faced a mass exile as many left the club in a bid to generate profit to avoid a financial breach.
As a result, O’Neil had to navigate his way through last season with limited resources, something that must be solved this summer.
Having welcomed Tommy Doyle on a permanent basis along with Rodrigo Gomes, things have started strongly at Molineux.
Pedro Lima and Jorgen Strand Larsen are poised to follow with announcements imminent, however, fans will be disappointed to learn that spending is set to be limited from now on.
According to The Athletic, Strand Larsen’s £25m arrival is expected to represent ‘Wolves’ most expensive signing’ of the summer transfer window.
While fans will be joyed to learn that the Old Gold will finally have a traditional number nine in their ranks, it’s somewhat underwhelming to realise that spending will slow after the 24-year-old’s arrival.
Gary O’Neil has plenty of work left to do this summer
The four arrivals amount to a transfer spend of around £55m so far, with it unlikely that another sizeable deal will happen beyond this point.
While the moves made so far are both encouraging and impressive, there is a lot of work left to do for O’Neil before his squad is ready to progress in 2024/25.
Wolves will not want to run the risk of going into the new campaign unprepared, despite new signings being made early.
Of course, just because the £25m arrival of Strand Larsen may not be replicated, other cost-effective players could still arrive, unless of course a sale is made.
It could be assumed that the Old Gold will look to better equip the squad by acquiring funds from offloading a key player, with several talents already linked with moves away.
Only time will tell what direction the remainder of the window will go for Wolves, with more business wanted by fans despite the lack of remaining budget.
