Wolves have gone from being threatened by relegation to creating breathing space above those sides in the bottom three.
On Saturday, Wolves’ 2-1 win over Southampton saw them move nine points clear of 18th place Ipswich Town.
It was a brilliant brace from Jorgen Strand Larsen that delivered Vitor Pereira’s men the three points at St Mary’s, handing Wolves a huge boost to their survival chances.
More impressively, the Old Gold secured victory over the Saints without their talisman Matheus Cunha, who was serving the second match of his suspension for lashing out at Milos Kerkez in an FA Cup tie against Bournemouth.
Some were hopeful that Cunha would only be absent for their clash against West Ham after serving the first two matches of his punishment but Wolves have now been given the worst possible news.

Matheus Cunha handed extra one-match suspension and £50,000 fine
For the second time this season, the 25-year-old was handed a ban for violent conduct, having lost his head against Ipswich Town in December.
Cunha was given a one-match ban and £80,000 fine on that occasion, which saw him miss the 3-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest in January.
This time around, the Wanderers were hopeful that Cunha would only be banned for three matches, seeing him return for the six-pointer against Ipswich Town.

However, the FA have now slapped him with an extra one-match ban and a £50,000 fine, meaning he will miss the home clash against West Ham and the trip to Portman Road.

Cunha, who was selected by Brazil during the international break, should now return for the visit of Tottenham in April, although Wolves fans may have to enjoy watching him while they can.
Cunha may only have seven matches left at Wolves
In the January transfer window, clubs were interested in signing the sensational Brazilian and supporters were worried that he would leave midway through the season.
Luckily, Cunha signed a new contract at Wolves with a £62.5 million release clause inserted. As many as six Premier League clubs have shown admiration for Cunha, who is destined to leave Molineux this summer.
It means that Pereira has next to no chance of holding onto a striker who is destined to play in the Champions League and Wolves will surely pocket a club-record fee for him.
So, with just seven matches left in the season once he returns next month, the chapter on Cunha’s career at Molineux could be coming to an abrupt end.
