Wolves receive potential boost for Saturday as two crucial Brentford stars a doubt

Wolves are looking for their first win in the Premier League this season, and Saturday could provide the opportunity to achieve it.

The Old Gold are coming off the back of one of their best performances of the season against Arsenal. While the game ended in defeat, it was a valiant effort by the side at the bottom of the league vs the league leaders.

Rob Edwards may look to Brentford’s terrible away record as a real chance to get Wolves off the ground this season.

And after Keith Andrews’ pre-Wolves press conference, there may be even more optimism building at Molineux.

Finish the sentence: The first player on Rob Edwards’ team sheet for Brentford must be ______.

Let us know which player simply has to start!

Jordan Henderson and Igor Thiago are a doubt for Saturday vs Wolves

When Brentford took on Manchester City in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night, there were two glaring omissions from their side.

Jordan Henderson and Igor Thiago were not in the starting XI, and they were also not included on the bench. Brentford will be sweating on their return to face Wolves, as both players have been crucial to their Premier League season so far.

Igor Thiago is the second top scorer in the league on 11 goals, only behind Manchester City’s Erling Haaland. Additionally, Jordan Henderson has provided the Brentford midfield and team with vital experience.

Speaking ahead of facing Wolves on Saturday, Keith Andrews provided an update, and it could be good news for the Old Gold.

Andrews said, “Jordan and Thiago both picked up little knocks against Leeds, but I don’t know yet; that’s the honest answer around how they are. They have been with medics today, and we will see how they are going into the game on Saturday.”

💭 Agree or Disagree: With Brentford likely missing some key attackers on Saturday, Rob Edwards should go bold and play a back four!

Dango Ouattara is at AFCON, Igor Thiago is a doubt, and Edwards is down a CB in Emmanuel Agbadou…

Wolves, of course, have their own injury issues. Jean-Ricner Bellegarde is sidelined until after the New Year, with Rodrigo Gomes expected around February as well.

Marshall Munetsi could be back before the end of the month.

Brentford will also be without Dango Ouattara

If Igor Thiago is not available, the Bees will not be able to turn to their joint-highest scorer, which is Dango Ouattara.

The Burkinabe forward is away at AFCON, leaving the London side even lighter in the forward areas.

The lack of options could make their forward line predictable, with Kevin Schade almost assured to start up front for Brentford in that case.

Rob Edwards will be able to prepare for limited scenarios, and that will make match preparation all the easier.

With Wolves off the back of an impressive display, and Brentford potentially losing two key attacking players, this may be the chance for the club to get a win.
