Wolves’ priority is now so clear after Stoke friendly, fans have a plan for player who was ‘way off it’

Wolves fans made their opinion on one player’s future known after the Old Gold’s draw against Stoke City.

Hwang Hee-chan found the net to score Wolves’ only goal against the Potters.

The friendly gave Vitor Pereira lots of pointers as the start of the Premier League season fast approaches.

The most prominent talking point at Wolves is who the club will sign to strengthen Pereira’s squad, but potential incomings aren’t the only focus.

Wolves fans think Pedro Lima needs to go on loan

Wolves have only signed two players so far, but the number was expected to be three before Atletico Madrid hijacked Marc Pubill’s transfer

It’s so clear that the wing-back positions need to be replenished, but that being said, Wolves fans are also envisioning an exit.

After watching the action unfold at the Bet365 Stadium, some supporters came to the conclusion that Pedro Lima needs to be sent on loan.

“What’s happened to Pedro Lima looks way off it,” one fan asked on X.

As Ki-Jana Hoever impressed once again, it only had supporters wondering what the future holds for Lima.

“I don’t see him starting, but I think he’d be decent backup and allow us to send Pedro Lima out on loan to get minutes & experience,” a fan said on the situation.

“Keep Hoever as the bag up then Lima out on loan,” another added.

“I’m happy to let Lima leave on loan or move Hoever on. Then sign 2 wingbacks.”

Fans made it clear that, at this moment, they’d rather loan Lima than Hoever.

“Would rather loan Lima than sell Hoever personally. But I would just keep both and sign a LWB to rotate with Hugo. Doubt we sign 2 wingbacks, unfortunately.”

Another fan mentioned Lima, making it clear that, for the player’s sake, a loan might be beneficial.

“Lima needs a loan to get some football in him. Watching his body language, the confidence levels have dropped significantly since last season.”

Gary O’Neil doubted whether Lima was ready, but whenever the teen was given the chance to shine, he proved his former boss wrong.

Pereira handed the Brazilian his Premier League debut, where Lima impressed once again, but it appears that a lack of game time is taking its toll on the right-back.

For a 19-year-old player, Lima has to be playing regularly to support his development, but his current position in the Wolves squad doesn’t allow that.

Pereira sees the youngster as a part of the first team rather than the academy, though first-team minutes are hard to come by.

A loan could allow the 2024 signing to rediscover his confidence and build some form ahead of a crucial few years in his budding career.
