Wolves poke fun at Mario Lemina's sending off against Southampton on TikTok

Wolves have produced another hilarious TikTok, following Mario Lemina’s controversial sending off last weekend against Southampton.

The 29-year-old was dismissed by referee Jarred Gillett before the half-hour mark.

Lemina had picked up a booking early in the game for a foul on Carlos Alcaraz.

That felt harsh. But had the foul occurred in the second-half there likely wouldn’t have been too many arguing against a yellow card.

For his second yellow, Lemina went over the Gillett to remonstrate after he had not been awarded a free-kick seconds before.

Joao Moutinho and Ruben Neves were both already there, and when Lemina came in, Gillett brandished another yellow to him.

It took everyone by surprised, and Neves said after the game that Gillett had said it was because Lemina was the third player to come over and surround him.

It had initially been suggested that Lemina came over too aggressively. Moutinho said after the game that Lemina simply asked about his shirt being pulled.

There is still a lack of true clarity about why Lemina was sent off.

Wolves mock Mario Lemina sending off decision on TikTok

Wolves have made light of the situation by uploading a TikTok on Tuesday.

The clip is of Lemina losing possession (after the shirt pull) and then seeing a second yellow from Gillett after a bit of speeding up.

The club features the audio from Mick Morgan’s legendary commentary of the Castleford vs Wigan rugby league match.

It is another fantastic bit of content, that perfectly makes a mockery of the decision.

Sadly, Julen Lopetegui will now not be able to call on Lemina for this weekend’s game with Bournemouth.

The Spaniard will have to think hard about who replaces him. Joao Gomes may like to hope he’s in with a chance after his brilliant winner against the Saints.
