Wolverhampton Wanderers recorded a much-needed victory yesterday.

The team have endured a tough start to the new season, with Bruno Lage not really getting his just rewards up to now.

He opened with three 1-0 defeats, despite the team playing really well.

The loss to Brentford and the Carabao Cup exit left a few people feeling concerned.

That made yesterday’s game with Southampton a big one, but Wolves got the job done.

It wasn’t pretty, but the fans won’t care one bit, especially since it was Raul Jimenez who got the winning goal.

The Mexican produced a moment of quality that was rare in the game, and finally opened his account for the season.


It was a heartwarming moment to see Jimenez wheeling away in celebration.

Following his awful skull fracture last season, you could tell he had been longing for that feeling.

It was undoubtedly an emotional moment, and it was brilliant that Wolves could then see the game out.
