Former Wolves player Diogo Jota has tragically passed away alongside his brother, Andre.
On July 3rd 2025, the worst possible news was confirmed.
Jota and his brother, Andre Silva, were involved in a fatal car accident, reportedly caused by a flat tyre.
It’s been confirmed that both Jota, 28, and Silva, 26, were killed in the accident, just two weeks after the Liverpool player got married.

Wolves tributes pour in for Diogo Jota
The world is in mourning following the breaking news of the tragic passing of Diogo and Andre.
Jota represented Wolves for three years, signing initially on loan from Atletico Madrid before his transfer was made permanent.
In reaction to his passing, the club shared a statement to honour their former player, stating they are ‘heartbroken’.
“We are heartbroken. Diogo was adored by our fans, loved by his teammates and cherished by everyone who worked with him during his time at Wolves. The memories he created will never be forgotten.
“Our hearts go out to the family, friends and loved ones of Diogo and his brother, Andre. You will be truly missed, and always remembered.”

Jota’s Wolves career
Many crossed paths with Jota, who enjoyed some of the highest highs when wearing the Old Gold.
From flying in the Championship to earn promotion to the Premier League, to playing for Wolves in the Europa League, the memories that Jota gave those in the West Midlands will last forever.
Jota left Wolves in 2020, having made 131 appearances for the club, contributing to a sensational 63 goals in that time.
A superb player and a person who will be so sorely missed.
