Wolves player Vitor Pereira said was injured has been spotted training ahead of Aston Villa clash

As the transfer rumours continue to swirl, Wolves are gearing up for their next Premier League game against Aston Villa.

Wolves are currently on a four-game losing streak after enjoying an initial bounce when Vitor Pereira came in.

But defeats to Arsenal, Chelsea, Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest have set Wolves back – and fans are growing concerned.

The hope is that the club will land a couple more new signings before the transfer deadline to help bolster the squad.

It is most important for Wolves to sign a new centre-back, given the continued frailties at the back.

But Wolves may also be in the market for a new attacker, with Jorgen Strand Larsen having limped off injured against Arsenal.

Carlos Forbs didn’t even make the matchday squad due to injury – and some new training photos have now dropped.

Against Arsenal, there was no sign of Carlos Forbs in the matchday squad.

Initially, some wondered if he had just missed out for tactical reasons. But Pereira has said Forbs missed the Arsenal clash due to injury.

Wolves have released some new training photos this morning (Wolves official website), and Forbs can be seen training at Compton Park with the rest of his teammates.

Whether he will be included in the squad this weekend for the game with Aston Villa is another thing.

Of course, at the moment, there are suggestions Forbs could end his loan early and return to Ajax.

One player who cannot be seen in the latest batch of photos though is Strand Larsen, who limped off in the first-half against Arsenal.

After the game, Pereira said he was hopeful Strand Larsen’s injury wasn’t serious.

But seemingly, the Norwegian is in doubt for the Villa game.

Forbs could leave Wolves before Aston Villa game

So Forbs is back in training for Wolves, and it will be very interesting to see if he makes this weekend’s matchday squad.

There is a chance he will not be a Wolves player by the time the game rolls around.

Ajax want Forbs back, and it’s also been suggested Forbs himself is keen to return to Ajax after struggling for minutes. Currently, Wolves and Ajax are in talks over the player’s immediate future.

But even if he stays, he might have his work cut out to make the squad against Villa, with Toti Gomes having taken his place against Arsenal.

That said, Strand Larsen seemingly won’t be ready to play, which could create an opening for him.
