Wolves now told £30k-a-week star is their ‘main man’ after latest display v Burnley

Hwang Hee-Chan was once again the match-winner for Wolves as they beat Burnley 1-0 at Molineux.

Wolves weren’t at their best against Burnley on Tuesday night however they managed to secure the three points.

It was a game which was vital for Gary O’Neil to get back into the win column after back-to-back defeats on visits to London in recent weeks.

The only goal of the game came through Hwang Hee-Chan who notched up his ninth goal of the campaign. The goal was created by Matheus Cunha who grabbed his third assist of the season.

However, Hwang’s performance has now drawn added praise from a former Everton man who’s named the South Korean as Wolves’ main man.

Leon Osman praises Hwang Hee-Chan

After the game, Osman couldn’t help but praise Hwang as he explained O’Neil’s confidence in the forward will be playing a big role in his form.

“All football players, once they realise they are the main man, can enjoy that confidence,” Osman told BBC Radio 5 Live’s Football Daily podcast.

“Everything becomes more natural. You are relaxed and able to finish chances. That’s how it looked. He didn’t snatch at it and he waited until he was ready.”

He then continued to conclude that the goal was a good one and one which saved Wolves after a poor opening 45 minutes.

“It was a good finish. It had been a poor first half from Wolves but they finished it really well with that goal.”

Hwang absolutely deserves a new contract

It’s been a few weeks now since rumours of Hwang being locked in new contract talks was reported, and week on week he proves exactly why he deserves a new deal.

Wolves’ top scorer this campaign and has been at the centre of vital points picked up and his value really can’t be understated.

Hwang has shown that he deserves a new bumper contract as without him, you’d have to believe that Wolves would be substantially lower in the league table.

The primary reason however is because there could be a risk that if he doesn’t get a new contract, there could be another side who come in for him that will offer more.
