Mateus Mane was the star of the show again for Wolves, as the Old Gold finally recorded their first win in the Premier League against West Ham United.
Wolves have reduced the gap to safety to 12 points, after Jhon Arias, Hwang Hee-chan and Mane were all on target against the Hammers at Molineux.
Wanderers were like a totally different outfit, showing the confidence and ruthlessness that have been absent in so many games this season.
Who was your MOTM during that brilliant 3-0 win for Wolves? 🤩
West Ham were extremely poor. But take nothing away from Wolves, who were brilliant in all departments.
And fans are yet again talking about teenage sensation Mateus Mane, who scored his first goal for the first-team.
It has been coming, with Mane looking so impressive every time he has come on in games for Wolves.
He now looks to be the main man for Wolves, and the club’s next move with this superb talent should be obvious.
Wolves need to get Mateus Mane tied down to a new contract

Mane really has been a revelation for Wolves.
It is remarkable to think he could not get a look in while Vitor Pereira was at the helm and so many attacking players were struggling.
Pereira may have handed Mane his Wolves debut last season, but he clearly didn’t fancy him this term for one reason or another.
Thankfully now, Mane is firmly in the picture and actually, he could well be one of the very first names on Rob Edwards’ team sheet at the moment. And if he’s not then he should be.
It is absolutely refreshing watching this young man play football.
He is always looking to be positive and direct. That spin away from his marker in the build-up to the first Wolves goal against West Ham was superb. There was also another smart turn he did to get away from two players on the edge of the West Ham box in the second-half, allowing him to get a shot away.
How good can Mateus Mane become at Wolves?👏🏻
And of course, his goal was brilliantly taken as he lashed his strike into the bottom corner.
It’s now clear what Wolves need to do, and that is to get Mane tied down to a new contract.
Yes, the threat of relegation is still huge.
But he’s a player Wolves cannot risk losing, because he would tear it up in the Championship if Wolves drop. And if Wanderers stay up, clearly he is showing he can cut it at Premier League level.
We have seen how he has breathed new life into this team, and to lose that so quickly would be a massive blow.
When does Mane’s Wolves contract expire?
Mane signed for Wolves in January 2024 from non-league side Rochdale AFC. At the time, he signed a full-time scholarship with the club.
But after developing rapidly, Mane worked his way into the first-team squad, eventually making his debut at the back end of last season.

In the summer, he penned his first professional contract as a reward for his rise, meaning his current deal expires in the summer of 2027.
So Wolves ideally don’t want a situation whereby Mane only has a year left on his contract, especially with his reputation growing like it is, and the club still staring down the barrel of relegation.
If they can agree an extension with him, this would be welcome news for Wolves fans everywhere.
