Wolves are back in talks with Julen Lopetegui, but Steve Davis and James Collins are likely to remain in charge for the club’s next three games.
The Telegraph reported yesterday evening that Wanderers are again in contact with the 56-year-old.

Lopetegui rejected Wolves a few weeks ago. This, after Jeff Shi had flown out to Spain to hold talks with him.
But he is said to have instigated fresh talks with the club about replacing Bruno Lage.
Negotiations have apparently been progressing well, and Wolves are now very optimistic they’ll finally get their man.
The club remain cautious, though, because of Lopetegui’s family situation. But they hope he can confirm him next week. He will require a work permit.
But even though he could be announced as the new head coach at Molineux next week, he might not start working until after the World Cup.
It is stated by both The Telegraph and The Athletic that it is expected he will arrive after Wolves’ games with Brighton, Arsenal and Leeds United in the Carabao Cup.

For now, Davis and Collins are likely to remain in interim charge.
The development has prompted a very positive reaction on social media.
Many Wolves fans have been aghast at what they have seen from the team in recent weeks.
There was a much improved showing at Brentford. But October was a bit of nightmare results-wise, and the need for a new head coach is clear.
Julen Lopetegui back in talks with Wolves is exciting, and may give the players a boost even if he doesn’t start straight away
This is fantastic news, and hopefully Wolves are able to get their man at the third time of trying.
The situation is still delicate, and a move is not guaranteed.
But the indications are that Wolves feel good about finally bringing Lopetegui in.

And if that news reaches the players, then it could well provide them with a big boost.
Knowing a top coach like Lopetegui is coming in might be something that lights a fire beneath them, as they seek to impress ahead of his arrival.
