Wolves news round-up: Matheus Cunha transfer latest, Vitor Pereira among Europe’s elite, and more

Wolves are in a great place at the moment. The Old Gold are enjoying their best spell for a long, long time.

Five wins on the bounce have lifted the pressure, as well as spirits, and with already-relegated Leicester City next up, things could be about to get a whole lot better.

That isn’t all that’s happening at the club, though…

Molineux News brings you all the latest news and transfer rumours from the past 24 hours.

Matheus Cunha closing in on Man United transfer

Matheus Cunha is guaranteed to leave Wolves this summer.

The Brazilian is wanted by a host of clubs, and with a minimum release clause worth just £62.5 million, it is just a matter of time before an agreement is reached.

And according to recent reports, including one from leading transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United are leading the race for Cunha.

Jamie Carragher sings Vitor Pereira’s praises

Jamie Carragher sang Vitor Pereira’s praises during Sky Sports’ latest edition of Monday Night Football.

The former Liverpool defender, turned pundit, believes the Wolves manager has brought the feel-good factor back to Molineux, claiming he is a ‘top coach’.

Santiago Bueno lauded following fine Old Trafford display

Despite losing his starting place in Wolves’ defence, Santiago Bueno put in a top performance away to Manchester United last weekend.

The Uruguayan came in for the injured Matt Doherty and did tremendously well.

“In comparison to Agbadou, Bueno had a better game, in my opinion,” Liam Keen said after the game.

“I thought he was assured, he didn’t steal any headlines, he didn’t make any mistakes, and he carried himself really, really well.”

Wolves among Europe’s best

Even though they’re not challenging for silverware, Wolves are among Europe’s most in-form teams.

The Old Gold have drawn one and won five of their last six matches, making them the second-most in-form team across all of Europe’s top five leagues; beaten only by Luis Enrique’s high-flying Paris Saint-Germain.

Top stuff.

Jose Sa could leave Wolves in summer

Although he has been the side’s Number 1 ever since he arrived from Olympiacos four years ago, Jose Sa is a candidate to leave Wolves in the summer.

Express & Star’s Keen suggested the veteran goalkeeper could leave Molineux at the end of the season, but admitted a new goalkeeper may not be the priority.

Pablo Sarabia certain to leave though

Pablo Sarabia may have signed his Wolves career off with a stunning free-kick against Manchester United.

The playmaker scored the only goal of the game on Sunday as the Old Gold put the Red Devils to the sword and ensured they’d finish the season with their worst-ever Premier League points tally.

Sarabia is set to leave Wolves at the end of the campaign, though.

He is wanted by several Spanish clubs, but Real Sociedad appear to be leading the race for his signature, which, if secured, would see him move as a free agent ahead of his contract expiring at the end of June.
