Wolves have endured a frustrating start to the summer transfer window, failing to truly replace key players Nelson Semedo, Matheus Cunha and Rayan Ait-Nouri.
Fer Lopez remains their only signing this summer, but he will be followed through the door by Jhon Arias, who is completing his medical ahead of a £19.5 million switch from Fluminense.
On Tuesday night, Wolves were dealt a devastating blow after it was revealed Marc Pubill has agreed a deal with Atletico Madrid, despite it looking almost certain he would join Vitor Pereira’s squad.
Pubill was seen as a direct replacement for Nelson Semedo, and now they’ve missed out on him, attention will turn to other targets.
The Wanderers need recruits at right wing-back, left wing-back, central midfield and striker to bolster their squad.

Wolves target Mika Biereth broke record not even Kylian Mbappe could achieve
Of the above positions that need strengthening, finding a centre-forward is important, arguably someone who could challenge Jorgen Strand Larsen.
Links have been few and far between, but on Wednesday, it was reported that Wolves have shown an interest in Monaco striker Mika Biereth.
Valued at £40 million after signing for Monaco in the January transfer window, the 22-year-old has seen his stock and price tag skyrocket following his exceptional start to life in France.
The former Arsenal striker has plundered 13 goals in 19 appearances for Monaco, becoming one of Europe’s most lethal finishers.
Remarkably, the rate of his scoring saw him achieve an unbelievable feat in Ligue 1. He became the first player in 75 years to find the net 10 times in his first seven league appearances, something not even the great Kylian Mbappe, Lionel Messi or Neymar could achieve during their time in the division, as per GOAL.
Biereth was also the first player in 70 years to net two hat-tricks in his first five matches in the competition, marking an extraordinary start to life in France.

Why Wolves are unlikely to move for Biereth
It’s been just over a year since Biereth was plying his trade on loan at Motherwell in the Scottish Premiership, and now he’s found himself in the Champions League with Monaco.
Interestingly, Arsenal sold the clinical centre-forward for just £4 million to Sturm Graz in the summer of 2024, joining Monaco six months later and now seeing his value become worth 10 times that amount.
In an ideal scenario, Wolves would shell out big money to sign Biereth, but as Strand Larsen’s starting spot is nailed, Fosun don’t want to splash the cash on someone who isn’t guaranteed to start.
That being said, the youngster would offer strong competition for the Norwegian, and arguably make a strong case to start ahead of him.
Though as it stands, with Goncalo Guedes, Fabio Silva, Sasa Kalajdzic and Hwang Hee-chan still at the club as forward options, Wolves are focused on spending money elsewhere and bringing in a cheaper striker.
