Wolves miss chance to make history amid ‘surreal news’ coming out of Molineux

A round-up of all the latest Wolves news, including updates on how the club missed a chance to make history, Tom King’s contract and Sasa Kalajdzic.

New Wolves record missed

A chance to make history at Molineux has been missed after an injury to Matheus Cunha. The Brazilian was forced off the pitch against Brentford in the 20th minute as Gary O’Neil’s side lost 2-0.

While the injury seemed to be serious, the manager and Cunha are now more optimistic about a return before the end of the campaign.

However, with a timeline yet to be put in place, Wolves may have missed the chance of getting two players to double-figure goals this campaign. No two Wolves players have ever reached this feat with the club extremely close to achieving this before Cunha’s injury.

On a more positive note, two Wolves players were extremely pleased with recent news coming out of the club. Goalkeeper Tom King recently put pen to paper as he signed a new deal at the club, despite not playing a professional game since signing last summer.

Both captain Max Kilman, as well as Pablo Sarabia, were extremely happy that King is now set to stay beyond this season. On social media, Kilman stated that the contract was “Fully deserved”.

After making a comeback from a horrendous injury last campaign, Kalajdzic spent the first half of this season in and among the Wolves first team. This saw the striker net some vital goals for the club, including a late winner against Everton.

However, the form of other forwards and the rise of Nathan Fraser saw the Austrian become unfavourable before being loaned out to Frankfurt in January.

Here, Kalajdzic has impressed since returning to Germany. His form was on full show on Thursday night as the striker bagged a goal and assist for Frankfurt in their Europa Conference League game.
