Vitor Pereira’s pre-match press conference ahead of Saturday’s Bournemouth game gave us an idea of where his head is at with Jorgen Strand Larsen amid links to Newcastle.
Jorgen Strand Larsen’s loan was made permanent at the beginning of the window, but already, he’s been linked with a move away.
Newcastle are looking at Strand Larsen as a potential option in their search for a new striker, having also made progress with Yoane Wissa.
Wolves manager Vitor Pereira was asked about his striker’s uncertain future, and it’s encouraging.
Vitor Pereira says Jorgen Strand Larsen is committed to Wolves and working hard in training
Questions about Strand Larsen’s future were inevitable, but Pereira handled them well.
As Liam Keen reports, the boss said: “I watch him in training and he’s committed. He’s preparing himself to play tomorrow. If the window is open, players can come and leave. This is football.”
Pereira isn’t giving much away, but that Strand Larsen isn’t agitating for a move is a great sign.
It would be a shame to lose a player like him, especially so soon after signing him. But as Pereira points out, that’s football. There’s still some time left in the transfer window, and anything can happen.
Wolves would really struggle to score goals if Jorgen Strand Larsen leaves
Already, Wolves have lost their top scorer from last season in Matheus Cunha. Goncalo Guedes and Rayan Ait-Nouri were also key contributors to the Old Gold’s scoring tally.

To add Strand Larsen to that list would be devastating, and might even seal Wolves’ place in the Championship next season.
The only scenario in which the club could even think about selling the Norwegian is if they have a replacement lined up, and even then, there’s no saying that whoever they sign will be a success.
