Connor Ronan is on loan at St Mirren from Wolves and clinched a stoppage time victory away from home against Dundee last night.
The game was 0-0 late, late on before the Republic of Ireland Under 21 midfielder popped up to win the match with a header.
After the game, he took to Twitter to celebrate the dramatic victory which sparked wild celebrations among the players and fans.
It was the first win of manager Steven Thompson’s reign and when asked about it after the game, he told club media: “It’s more important for the boys than it is for myself.
“I’m confident in what I do and the boys have given me everything since I came in and tonight we showed the patience with it, we passed it and we didn’t launch it forward.
“We had six clear chances and tonight we started putting our style of play into it until the 93rd, 94th minute and we got our reward.”
Ronan started 2022 on fire but last night’s goal was his first since 9 February and it was a good comeback from suspension.
He missed the last two league matches with suspension after a red card picked up in a 2-0 defeat against Hearts last month.
The win over the bottom club leaves St Mirren in 9th, putting an end to the run of three defeats which have marked the start of Robinson’s reign.
