It was a very impressive result for Stoke.

Coventry had been unbeaten in nine games before the clash, and also had the second best defensive record in the Championship.

But Stoke blew them away, and Wolves youngster Hoever grabbed his fourth goal since signing in January.

The right-back oozed confidence as he took the ball inside before dropping his shoulder and moving the ball to his right at pace.

That great dart allowed him to ghost into the penalty, where he finished into the far corner brilliant.

The way he got between the two players on him was very Adama Traore. But the finish was perhaps much more composed than something the Spaniard would have served up.

After the game, the Stoke Sentinel produced their player ratings. They gave Hoever an 8/10, and stated that there were even chants from Potter fans about wanting the club to buy the Dutchman.

They said: “Picked up form from where he left off, dangerous and skilful charging forward. Super goal. Stoke didn’t realise they were signing Carlos Alberto on loan from Wolves. ‘Sign him up’, sang the away end.”

Hoever’s latest strike was his fourth in just four games.

Ki-Jana Hoever may be in the best moment of his career so far

So that’s four in four for Hoever, who also got an assist in yesterday’s game with Coventry.

It is amazing to see this kind of impact from the Dutchman, who’s definitely had some struggles over the last year or so.

He appears to have real found his feet at Stoke under Neil.

His spell will delight Wolves officials.

It will be very interesting to see what will happen with him in the summer. If he continues to play like this, it’s hard to see Wolves wanting to offload him as the Stoke fans would surely love.
