Wolves loanee Fabio Silva has just achieved a rare feat for Las Palmas as impressive campaign continues

Wolves were hoping Fabio Silva could have a productive season over in La Liga – and the striker is certainly doing that.

Fabio Silva left Wolves on a temporary basis once again last summer.

It had been expected that he would leave the club, with Silva previously admitting he didn’t really want to join Wolves in the first place in 2020.

But seemingly no suitable permanent offers came in.

And Wolves opted to send the youngster out loan to Las Palmas, for his fourth loan spell since he came to Molineux.

The hope has been that Silva would shine, and increase his market value ahead of the summer 2026 transfer window.

And Molineux officials will be pleased with his efforts so far.

Silva turned out once again for Las Palmas in their La Liga match against Getafe yesterday.

Silva had impressed in Las Palmas’ last match against Real Sociedad, providing a brilliant assist for Oli McBurnie in the club’s 3-1 loss.

But against Getafe, Las Palmas ran out 3-1 winners this time – and Silva managed to bag himself a brace.

His first goal was an equaliser for Las Palmas. The youngster controlled a ball in from the right, and as the ball popped up he swivelled and fired into the bottom corner clinically.

After McBurnie then made it 2-1, Silva then grabbed his second.

The ball was played out the top and Silva – under pressure from a defender confidently dinked the ball over the goalkeeper, who had rushed to the edge of his box.

That helped Silva earn the highest Sofascore rating of any player to feature in the game. It also moved Las Palmas up to 18th in the table, leapfrogging Leganes in the process. They are now one point from safety behind Deportivo Alaves, who play against Real Madrid later today.

The second goal took Silva up to 10 goals in La Liga for the season, which is a pretty good achievement.

No player for Las Palmas has reached that tally since Kevin-Prince Boateng back in the 2016/17 season.

He is also only the third player this century (seven seasons in the top-flight) to reach 10 in La Liga, after Boateng and Jonathan Viera in the 2015/16 season.

Fabio Silva staying at Wolves unlikely

It’s great to see Silva getting to 10 goals in La Liga, and it’s good news for Wolves ahead of the summer.

The likelihood is that Silva will be moving on from Molineux this summer.

His previous comments about never wanting to go to Wolves in the first place, have pointed to his days being numbered.

Molineux News has been told Wolves are keeping an eye on Silva’s progress heading into the summer, and that the club feel he could stay in Spain.

Having said that, Vitor Pereira might feel he can get something out of Silva at Wolves and try to keep him around, so it’s all up in the air at the moment.
