Wolves learn Matheus Cunha’s injury situation ahead of Molineux reunion

Matheus Cunha and Wolves are set for their very first reunion since the Brazilian decided to move to Old Trafford in the summer.

Wolves decided to slap a £62.5 million release clause in Matheus Cunha‘s new contract ahead of the summer, fully well knowing it would be activated.

It could have gone horribly wrong and derailed Wolves’ season by getting into the head of the attacker, but to be fair to him, he played a major part in staying in the Premier League.

As the season came to a close, the inevitable happened as Cunha gave an emotional gesture to the Molineux crowd after Wolves’ clash with Brentford.

He’ll breathe a huge sigh of relief after seeing the situation Wolves now find themselves in, but deep down, he’ll be hurting to see a side that gave him so much in the position they’re in.

What position would Wolves be in right now if they still had Matheus Cunha⁉️

“I was very happy at Wolves. The moment I got there right after I didn’t go to the World Cup, and the club was what I needed to remember how big I got within the possibilities, how affectionate the club was with me.

“Helping in the best way was very important, they also helped me and I was able to give back. Within records and goals, what made me most proud was to return the affection.”

Matheus Cunha issues injury update ahead of Wolves vs Manchester United

It’s safe to say that Matheus Cunha hasn’t perhaps lived up to expectations at Manchester United this season after scoring 17 goals and laying on six assists at Wolves in the last campaign.

He has just one goal to his name. But Tim Sherwood thinks Man United fans have seen nothing yet, as he’s tipped Cunha to become the next Eric Cantona.

Matheus Cunha has missed the last couple of games for Manchester United with a knock, but Ruben Amorim has revealed he will be back for the West Ham clash.

And to further back up the Manchester United manager, the player’s chef gave an update on his Instagram as he posted the caption ‘back’.

Matheus Cunha’s departure has been felt massively at Wolves

Wolves decided to sign the likes of Fer Lopez and Jhon Arias to make up for the creativity void left by Matheus Cunha’s move to Man United.

However, things couldn’t have gone more wrong. Wolves fans are losing patience with Arias and Lopez hasn’t been able to get a look-in so far.

The Old Gold have scored just seven goals after 14 games, which is seven fewer than any other team in the Premier League.

If Cunha finds his form against this current Wolves side, it could be yet another ugly afternoon.

What kind of reception should Matheus Cunha get on Monday night?🤔
