Wolves just made a highly encouraging claim about Jhon Arias after finally announcing his signing

It’s official – Wolves have signed Jhon Arias from Fluminense.

After what has felt like weeks, Wolves have confirmed they’ve made their second signing of the summer in the form of Jhon Arias, who joins on a four-year contract, with the option for a further 12 months.

Arias has been on Wolves’ radar for a while.

Vitor Pereira was aware of Arias during his time managing in Brazil, and then the 27-year-old started to attract attention by impressing at the Club World Cup.

Thankfully though, Arias was always keen to join Wolves.

It’s even been claimed Arias has accepted a pay cut to join Wolves and realise his dream of playing in Europe.

Fans will now hope that he lives up to expectation.

And certainly, the feeling around this signing is extremely positive.

There has obviously been a lot of talk about Arias in terms of what he will bring on the pitch.

The Colombian is dynamic, versatile and technical, and is also strong on set-pieces.

And most ideally, he is experienced. While he has obviously not yet played in the Premier League, Arias is about to come into his prime years and is ready to go now.

After losing Matheus Cunha and Pablo Sarabia, it was essential for Wolves to bring in some pedigree.

But there is also a suggestion that Wolves have done really well here due to the player’s character.

Alongside their announcement of the player this morning, Wolves have claimed the character references they received on Arias were ‘resoundingly positive’. The club say that both Andre and Mosquera spoke positively about Arias, both as a character and a player.

Furthermore, Wolves say that Arias plays with ‘a clear hunger and determination, suggesting he will be a popular player at Molineux.

Arias could be a serious hit for Wolves

Wolves fans have been frustrated in recent days, especially after the collapse of the Pubill deal.

But Arias is though the door now and at least for the moment those frustrations are suspended.

Wolves have got themselves a great player here, and by many accounts, he is a great person as well.

Arias has the potential to become a cult hero at Molineux, as he is someone who places a lot of emphasis on building a relationship with the fans.

He was adored at Fluminense, and his relationship with them help him become a top player there.
