Wolves issue Jorgen Strand Larsen injury update after training ahead of Leeds United

Jorgen Strand Larsen has been out of action since Wolves’ Carabao Cup clash against West Ham, and Vitor Pereira has provided another update on the Norwegian.

The Wolves striker is one of the Old Gold’s most important players, and it was proved by the forward being offered and accepting a new deal just months after being signed permanently.

Fosun had to fend off interest from Newcastle United during the summer, but keeping hold of Strand Larsen was one of Wolves’ better pieces of business.

Having the number nine back for Leeds United would be a massive boost as they search for their first points of the season.

Vitor Pereira has shared the most recent status update on the striker.

Wolves fans have been waiting for some good news surrounding the fitness of their star striker, and that has now arrived.

Vitor Pereira has confirmed that Jorgen Strand Larsen has trained ahead of Wolves’ match against Leeds United.

The manager says he will not be able to play for 90 minutes, but hopes he can feature on Saturday.

It is a major boost for Pereira, and a blow for Leeds United, who are facing a lot of injuries themselves.

Jorgen Strand Larsen scored 14 goals for Wolves in the Premier League last season, and hopes will be that he can guide them safely from relegation by doing the same this year.

And he could begin doing that as soon as Saturday.

Tolu Arokodare should still start for Wolves vs Leeds United

Although Strand Larsen is back in contention, it would be wiser for Vitor Pereira to bring him off the bench rather than start him.

That is likely what he’ll do. There is no point in risking more than half an hour for Larsen, who has barely trained ahead of the game.

On the other hand, Tolu Arokodare impressed Vitor Pereira on his debut, and after more time working on the training ground, he could show how much of an asset he will be for Wolves.

Either way, if Strand Larsen is able, getting minutes into his legs ahead of Wolves’ cup match against Everton is ideal, and that could be when the Norwegian returns to the starting line-up.
