Wolves issue injury updates on Santiago Bueno and Marshall Munetsi ahead of West Ham

Wolves have issued a fresh update on their squad health ahead of their match against West Ham, including updates on Santiago Bueno and Marshall Munetsi.

Rob Edwards will be looking to back up the confidence Wolves fans have in the team against the Hammers, as he searches for the Old Gold’s first win of the season.

According to Opta, those chances of a Wanderers win are plausible.

The head coach will have plenty of decisions to make, especially in regard to the team he selects, and after the latest injury news, he could have more players at his disposal.

And that is on top of the returning Andre, who has come back from suspension.

Finish the sentence: Wolves’ best centre-back partnership is ________.

You can go with a three-man backline or just two CBs!

Wolves have been without Marshall Munetsi for the entirety of December, and his injury meant that the midfielder had to miss AFCON.

Munetsi has been linked with a move away from Wolves recently, but his energy in the middle of the pitch is a useful asset.

Additionally, Santiago Bueno was forced to miss the Old Gold’s clash against Manchester United on Tuesday, but fresh updates on the pair have dropped ahead of Saturday.

Rob Edwards ‘expects Santiago Bueno to recover from the knock which kept him out of Tuesday’s game’, while Marshall Munetsi has moved closer to a full return from injury.

Santiago Bueno is expected to be back, but if you could pick just one other player to be available from this list, who would it be?

Rodrigo Gomes is also still ruled out.

The Zimbabwean has ‘returned to the grass this week but is yet to rejoin team training.’

Tawanda Chirewa is also expected to be back among selection options with Zimbabwe getting knocked out of AFCON in the group stages.

While Wolves coped well without Santiago Bueno, his return is certainly welcomed. Over recent weeks, the centre-back department has been left particularly light.

Toti Gomes has sustained a hamstring injury, and Emmanuel Agbadou’s participation at AFCON dwindled the numbers.

On Tuesday, Rob Edwards had to find solutions with just two natural central defenders fit, and he managed to find them.

The performances of Jhon Arias and Mateus Mane were certainly a positive, and that means Ladislav Krejci can also continue at the back instead of in midfield.
