Wolves have now ‘agreed’ to make 27-year-old one of their ‘highest-paid’ players

Wolves have reportedly reached an agreement with Hwang Hee-chan over a new contract at Molineux.

It was suggested recently that Wanderers had been in talks with the South Korea international about a new deal amid his brilliant form.

Hwang, who cost Wolves around £14 million, has been superb this season and is already up to eight goals in the Premier League.

This is easily his most prolific campaign since he came to the club and Wolves have been looking to reward him as a result.

It looks as though a breakthrough has now been reached…

Earlier this afternoon, respected journalist Fabrizio Romano exclusively reported that Hwang has actually now agreed a new contract with Wolves.

He wrote on X: “Understand new contract will be valid until June 2028 with an option for further season.”

Romano also states that Hwang will now become one of the highest earners at Molineux. At the moment, it is thought that Pablo Sarabia is on the most money at the club on £90,000-a-week.

There is currently no official word from the club about the new contract. Given the reliability of Romano, one would imagine that it will probably arrive fairly soon.

This new deal will now make it very difficult for other clubs to sign Hwang, who apparently had plenty of suitors in the summer.

Amazing news and well-deserved

This is fantastic news and something that is going to satisfy Wolves fans everywhere.

Hwang has been ‘phenomenal’ this season, finding a new lease of life under Gary O’Neil.

The former RB Leipzig star has managed to stay fit so far this term and has been relishing working under O’Neil after some periods of inconsistency under Bruno Lage and Julen Lopetegui.

There were times when Hwang was being criticised, and some questioned whether he would actually be able to cut it at Wolves long-term. But he’s kept his head down, and now become one of the most important players at Molineux.

A new deal really is no less than he deserves. Hwang works his socks off at Wolves and also conducts himself immaculately.
