Wolves are in a precarious position at the moment, and we are also starting to see players struggling with injuries.

In January, Wolves were thought to be in the market for another forward – and it is starting to look like Pereira could have done with that extra player.
One man who was linked with Wolves was Rafa Silva – and certainly, his recent form suggests it may have been an oversight by Wanderers not to sign him.

Wolves were said to be keen on Rafa Silva in January.
Silva is a player who’s actually been on Wolves’ radar for a long time, with Bruno Lage having shown an interest.
Wolves have only scored six goals in the Premier League so far in 2025, and that is slightly concerning.
The team isn’t as free-scoring as earlier in the season, and Silva may well have helped.
This season, Silva has really shone for Besiktas, scoring 13 goals and making nine assists in 39 appearances.
Since the start of January, Silva has chipped in six goals and five assists. And after his latest outing against Kayserispor, Besiktas took to their official account to proudly brand him ‘unstoppable’.
The number of appearances he’s made is just as impressive as his number of contributions. That durability and availability would surely have come in handy for Wolves.
Wolves should have signed Rafa Silva years ago
So it’s been a pretty brilliant calendar year so far for Silva at Besiktas, and a great season on the whole.
He is a player who has really impressed in Turkey since joining them in the summer, and at his previous club Benfica, his numbers were very impressive.

There is an argument to say that Wolves should have signed Silva years ago. He’d have still been a good signing even now at the age of 31. But to have had him for his prime years would have been brilliant.
Silva’s contributions at Benfica during his prime years do suggest that Wolves ought to have made a move for him several summers ago.
