All of the current top Wolves stories including, a new record set, a transfer update and who Gary O’Neil thought was excellent against Sheffield United.
New Wolves record
While the Sheffield United game may have been far from inspiring, Wolves got the job done. Pablo Sarabia’s header was enough for O’Neil’s side to take all three points. However, the goal also has a bigger meaning.
Wolves have now hit 40 goals this campaign in just 26 top-flight games. You’d have to go back to the 1971/72 season to recall the last time the Molineux club did it quicker.

Wolves have just spent millions on former player

Wolves have spent little on players this season. FFP has restricted the club, with few players making their way to Molineux this season.
However, the club have just had to spend millions on former player Matheus Nunes. The midfielder joined from Sporting CP last season and spent a year at Wolves before moving to Man City.
As a result, the club have now had to pay Sporting CP £2 million as part of a clause in the deal.

Who was ‘excellent’ against Sheffield United

Wolves weren’t at their best against Sheffield United. The hosts struggled to make their superiority known at Molineux but got the job done in the end.
Many players were below their usual standard, however, O’Neil picked out Sarabia after the result. The manager believed the winger was ‘excellent’ as he proved to be the difference on Sunday.
