A lot can change in the space of four months, as highlighted by Wolves clash against Leicester City this weekend.
In December’s meeting at the King Power Stadium, Leicester were above Wolves in the Premier League table, in what was a huge six-pointer.
Wolves prevailed against Leicester with a 3-0 victory in Vitor Pereira’s first game in charge, laying down a marker on their ambitions to escape the bottom three and doing so in style.

The Old Gold have since claimed wins on seven more occasions to move 17 points clear of the bottom three, while the Foxes have been relegated to the Championship following a run of 12 matches without a win.
On Sunday, Wolves beat Manchester United 1-0 – their fifth Premier League win in a row – with Pereira’s men looking to add a sixth this weekend.

Graham Scott named on VAR for Wolves vs Leicester City
Pereira predicts Wolves to achieve ‘big things’ in the future, and fans will be hoping that transpires, even with Fosun holding them back.
To make themselves a more attractive proposition for new signings, the Wanderers will want to finish as high as possible in the table and end their campaign on a high.
Wolves have already leapfrogged West Ham and Tottenham into 15th position. Encouragingly, they can move up to 13th this weekend with a win and other results going their way.
Ahead of the showdown at Molineux, Sam Barrott has been named as the referee while Graham Scott is overseeing VAR.
Scott has operated VAR on 12 different occasions involving Wolves, including in their FA Cup quarter-final defeat to Coventry City last season.
But the Englishman has also refereed hundreds of matches, and one of those was the controversial tie between Wolves and Nottingham Forest in 2023.
Scott angered Ruben Neves against Nottingham Forest
In January 2023, Forest prevailed on penalties in a Carabao Cup tie against Wolves, but the outcome of the match left a bitter taste in the mouth of Ruben Neves.
The Portuguese midfielder felt Wolves should have had a penalty when Matheus Nunes went down under a challenge from Emmanuel Dennis, but Scott – who was officiating the contest – felt that wasn’t enough contact to award a spot kick.
With VAR absent from the clash, Neves had to accept Scott’s original decision and that led to him blasting the official with criticism at full-time.
“Maybe if I step on his foot like their player stepped on Matheus, and he’ll ask for a foul,” Neves said. “He told us as well that if the foul was in the middle of the pitch he would give it to us, but that the criteria in the box is different and the contact was not deemed to be enough.
“Do we need to start breaking legs to have penalties in football? Now the referees would have the sensibility to know if the contact is enough or not.
“I showed him Matheus’ boot, it was completely ripped! There’s no excuses. He didn’t give the penalty because he didn’t want to give it, that’s it.”
It was a night to forget for Neves, who also missed his penalty, as Wolves exited the competition after controversy that supporters hope doesn’t creep into Scott’s game this weekend.
