Wolves fans were left fuming once again at the weekend as the club conceded a last-gasp goal to lose against Manchester City.
John Stones popped up in the 95th minute to score a header for City, which has been highly controversial.
Bernardo Silva positioned himself in front of Wolves goalkeeper Jose Sa for the corner, and there were suggestions that he had interfered when the ball came off Stones’ head and into the net.
But the goal was given, with Silva deemed not to be interfering.
The on-field decision was actually given as offside, and referee Chris Kavanagh overturned it after reviewing the goal on the pitchside monitor.
Today, the all-time VAR net score table has been doing the rounds on social media – and Wolves fans are going to be left feeling pretty sick.
Wolves rock bottom of all-time VAR net score table

Over the past few seasons, Wolves fans have seen a number of decisions made that have then been overturned by VAR.
More often than not, the overturn goes against Wolves, rather than in favour.
A lot of Wolves fans feel as though VAR is constantly against them – and those fans will be sickened to see Wolves ‘placement in the all-time VAR decisions table.
Today, ESPN’s editor Dale Johnson has shared the all-time, five-plus season VAR decisions net score table.
Wolves are predictably bottom, but it’s the distance up to the next team that will shock many.
- Brighton +9, Newcastle +6, Man City +5, Aston Villa +3, Crystal Palace +3, Liverpool +3, Man United +3, Chelsea +2, Everton +1, Tottenham -3, Arsenal -6, West Ham -7, Wolves -20.
Wolves have a net score of -20, and the next team above them is West Ham United with -7. Brighton sit top with +9, and they are followed by Newcastle United (+6) and Manchester City (+5).
Explaining how the scores are calculated, Johnson says: “For clarity, this relates to VAR overturns (not points). So Liverpool would have got -2 yesterday for the overturned penalty and onside goal for Chelsea.”
Little wonder Wolves wanted VAR scrapped
Few would have doubted Wolves would be bottom of this table, but the gap to the next team above is really something.
Wolves have struggled a lot over the last two to three years. But this clearly shows that there has been a lot of bad luck along the way for Gary O’Neil and also his predecessors.
The table is not a measure of whether the overturns are correct or incorrect. But Wolves fans know full well they have been on the end of some rotten calls in recent times. And many neutrals have also seen the controversy in Wolves games over the past couple of seasons.
Very often, the decisions that have gone against Wolves have been highly controversial. Things such as the ‘fouls’ by Hwang Hee-chan and Fabio Silva to give penalties away last season, and Hwang having a goal ruled out against Bournemouth when Matheus Cunha brushed an opponent off the ball.
It really is little wonder Wolves tabled a motion to try and get VAR scrapped, and a major shame that not a single other club supported it.
