Wolves fans will like what Adama Traore has posted about Molineux after latest return with Fulham

Wolves crashed to a 2-1 defeat against Fulham on Tuesday night, on what was a very disappointing night.

Vitor Pereira’s side missed the opportunity to go eight points clear of the relegation zone, with Fulham scoring two goals inside the first minute of each half.

Wolves started the game atrociously, with Rodrigo Muniz wriggling away from Santiago Bueno in midfield before the ball was fed through to Ryan Sessegnon in acres of space.

Joao Gomes equalised for Wolves, but the hosts then conceded again straight away after the restart.

Wolves dominated the ball in the second-half, but couldn’t find another equaliser.

Adama Traore made a big impact in the game, setting up Muniz for Fulham’s second goal.

The star was a real handful before he went off, but Traore was applauded by the Wolves fans along with Raul Jimenez – and yesterday the Spaniard made a post about Molineux.

Traore has faced Wolves three times since joining Fulham in the summer of 2023.

This was the second time he has been back at Molineux as a Fulham player, but the first time he’s actually started against Wolves since his exit.

Traore mostly played from the right side, and was difficult for the Wolves players to deal with.

Traore remains one of the most unpredictable players in the world, and there is still a great respect for him from Wolves fans who watched him in old gold for five seasons.

He got a great reception on Tuesday, and Traore has since taken to Instagram to share exactly how he feels about Molineux.

He said: “A win on a pitch that’s always special.”

Why Adama Traore left Wolves

Traore thinks the Molineux pitch is special, and he certainly did something special things on it during his time as a Wolves player.

Traore did lack consistency, but he was truly breathtaking to watch at times with that incredible pace and dribbling.

Ultimately, Traore left Wolves as he was ready for a new chapter having not always been a regular starter.

Wolves offered Traore a contract worth £100,000 per week, but even that wasn’t enough to convince the player to extend.

A source told The Athletic about Traore: “Adama isn’t a pushy person, he’s not ego-driven. He’s absolutely lovely. He could have signed that £100,000-a-week contract at any time but he stayed on £40,000 because he didn’t want to get tied in, he was thinking of his next move… he wanted bigger things, but not in a selfish way, just career progression.”

For many, it was a shame to see such a unique player leave. But in the end, there wasn’t a great deal Wolves could do given he’d reached the end of the one and only contract he signed at Molineux when he joined from Middlesbrough.
