Hugo Bueno is hoping for a big season at Feyenoord ahead of returning to Wolves next summer.
The Spaniard had a disappointing season in 2023/24, largely because of the fact that he warmed the bench a lot of the time.
Gary O’Neil clearly favoured Rayan Ait-Nouri, and the Algerian enjoyed his best campaign to date for Wanderers.
So ahead of the 2024/25 season, Wolves took the decision to send Hugo Bueno out on loan to Feyenoord.
Feyenoord must pay penalties if they don’t give Bueno regular game time, as part of a move by Wolves to ensure the player develops.
So far, he’s been pretty involved for the Dutch giants, and Bueno has come in for some nice comments from his manager after the club’s latest game.
Hugo Bueno branded ‘a weapon’ for Feyenoord as Wolves gem’s good form continues

Feyenoord played against Utrecht on Sunday and ran out 2-0 winners – and there was another contribution in the game from Bueno.
The star, making his seventh appearance for the club, supplied a lovely ball to the back post for an easy tap-in for Julian Carranza.
That gave Feyenoord the lead, and they went on to score again through Quinten Timber in the second-half.
It was Bueno’s third assist already, and the youngster is really establishing himself as an offensive threat in his new team.
And he is certainly making an impression. His manager Brian Priske said after the game (via AD): “Hugo combines intensity with carefulness. He makes the difference by making the right decisions in possession. Yes, he’s a weapon for us.”
Bueno also came in for praise from teammate David Hancko, who said: “He can stand wide, but also deep. To the opponent, he is just a danger, because he is very good at playing out the one-on-one.
“When the opponent, like Benfica, covers for him, Igor Paixão always gets free. Hugo plays an important role in our game.”
PSV Eindhoven assistant manager Theo Lucius also praised Bueno, talking up his quality ‘both defensively and in the build-up’.
Encouraging signs over Bueno
These comments will be welcomed by Wolves fans, who know that the club will potentially face a battle to keep Ait-Nouri next summer.
He was heavily linked with an exit during the last transfer window. In the end, due to the sales of Max Kilman and Pedro Neto, Wolves were able to keep him.
But fans have seen how Wolves operate in recent years. There is every chance that Ait-Nouri could be the next big sale at Molineux, because he remains on the radars of a lot of top clubs.

Manchester City have been linked with Ait-Nouri as have Liverpool, and Wolves would likely find it hard to turn down massive money.
So it would be great if Wolves had a replacement ready to go in the form of Bueno, who has already shown himself to be capable at Premier League level.
With a full season of football in the Eredivisie under his belt, plus a taster of the Champions League, he could be primed and ready to play in Wolves’ starting XI next season.
