Nasser Djiga joined Marshall Munetsi as two new faces to arrive at Wolves on transfer deadline day.
While Munetsi impressed on his debut against Blackburn Rovers, Djiga was named on the bench but wasn’t introduced at Ewood Park.
Wolves signed Djiga for £10m from Red Star Belgrade, and the 22-year-old looks set to play a vital role in Vitor Pereira’s defence.
The Burkina Faso international interestingly traded Champions League football with the Serbian outfit to become the first player of his nationality to play for the Old Gold.
Djiga said it was his ‘dream’ to play in the Premier League, fulfilling that ambition with Wolves, and fans will soon get to see his incredible skillset in action.

Nasser Djiga on why he’s perfect for the Premier League
Pereira can be pleased with his signings in the window. Emmanuel Agbadou has already won the Player of the Month award for January, slotting seamlessly into the back three.
The 27-year-old has looked the part with his impeccable strength and power, two attributes that have seen him flourish in the early stages of his top-flight career.
Alongside Agbadou, Djiga also promises to bring a defensive style that suits England’s top flight, listing his aggression, strength in duels and ability in possession as key attributes.
“I think my style fits well in the Premier League because I am a very aggressive player. I like to be strong in duels and comfortable on the ball,” Djiga told Wolves’ official website.
“To succeed in the Premier League, you need these qualities. I have them, but I also want to keep working hard to improve even more.”
Djiga’s move to Wolves was ‘complicated’ and according to his agent, it very nearly didn’t happen. However, supporters can be pleased that a deal was wrapped up and he’s now waiting to make his debut.
Djiga in a three-way battle to start for Wolves
Wolves travel to Liverpool in the Premier League on Sunday, as the Old Gold aim to pull off a giant victory and boost their survival hopes.
Djiga will be chomping at the bit to test himself against the league’s best this weekend, although he’s battling two other players for a place in the starting lineup.
Wolves are in talks to terminate Craig Dawson’s contract while Agbadou and Toti Gomes are guaranteed to start in the centre and on the left of a back three, leaving just the right side as an option.
Matt Doherty has deputized out of position since Pereira arrived and Santi Bueno was also a regular starter.
However, with Djiga presumably brought to Molineux to start games, perhaps the Portuguese boss will entrust him to make his debut this weekend.
This is where he can showcase his skillset that looks perfectly suited to the Premier League.
