Bruno Lage has admitted he prefers to work with a bigger squad than the one he currently has at Wolves.
Ahead of the trip to face Watford, Lage conducted his first press conference since the end of the summer transfer window.
Lage said he would rather be working with 21 outfield players than 18, but was optimistic about what he can do with the squad he has now.
The Express and Star’s Liam Keen quoted Lage as saying:
It is that very last word which caught the attention of many Wolves fans on Twitter.
‘Solutions’ was a favourite phrase of Lage’s predecessor Nuno Espirito Santo.
That’s why it seems to have grabbed the attention of some Wolves supporters online.
Lage offered other updates at the briefing, such as confirming Raul Jimenez is able to play, but none garnered as much online reaction as what he said here.
Here’s how the comments went down as Lage prepares to try and get his first Premier League win, at the fourth time of asking:
- Joao Gomes set to make his 100th Wolves appearance but Vitor Pereira is not satisfied
- Wolves were willing to pay more than West Ham for Ajax midfielder, but he turned them down
- The Scott Parker statistic that gives Wolves a reason for hope ahead of Burnley clash
- Wolves fans finally hear from Vitor Pereira on Mateus Mane’s situation
- Vitor Pereira provides updates on Jorgen Strand Larsen and Wolves duo ahead of Burnley
