Wolves fans react as Theo Corbeanu scores on Canada debut

Some Wolverhampton Wanderers fans have been reacting to the news that Theo Corbeanu scored for the Canada national team last night.

The 18-year-old was handed a substitute appearance in the World Cup qualifier against Bermuda by John Herdman, and took just four minutes to score, grabbing the final goal in a 5-1 victory.

It was a tap-in for the youngster, who did really well to ghost in from the back post with his marker having no clue of his movement.

Speaking about his proud moment after the game, he said (via Wolves official): “It’s a great feeling, always, to score a goal.

“I’m hoping for me to come. This was a game I was told to come in and make an impact and I feel like that’s what I did – I did my best.”

It’s another high point for Corbeanu in what has been a really good season so far for him.

The starlet has been one of the standout performers for James Collins U23s side, and there have been a number of occasions where he’s made Nuno Espirito Santo’s first-team matchday squad.

He’s yet to make his debut, but one gets the feeling the way he’s going, it might not be too much longer before he gets a chance.

Fabio Silva and Willian Jose have found goals hard to come by in the Premier League and with Wolves not having a great deal to play for, it is not unreasonable that he’ll be given an opportunity before the season is out.

On social media, some Wolves fans reacted to Corbeanu scoring for his country by imploring Nuno to give him a chance as soon as possible:
