Some Wolves fans have been reacting to the news that Jose Sa has been called up to the latest Portugal squad.

The 28-year-old has been sent for by Fernando Santos, after Anthony Lopes pulled out with an injury.

My Revenge On Ben Foster

He joins up with Nelson Semedo, Ruben Neves and Joao Moutinho, and will be in contention for minutes against Ireland and Serbia.

It is not the first time Sa has been called into the national squad.

He has actually been with the team a few times in his career since March 2017.

But he is still to earn his first cap, with former Wolves stopper Rui Patricio the number one.

Sa was unfortunate not to be called up straight away, but there’s no doubt he deserves to be in there.

The 28-year-old has been in fine form for Wolves so far this season, barring one or two dicey moments.

He has showcased a really good all-round game, and looks to be solid in all areas.

He has produced some big saves, and there is no denying the impact he has had on Wolves rising up the Premier League table.

Currently, only Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool have conceded fewer league goals than Wolves.

Sa has undoubtedly played a big part in that defensive record.

They believe it is the least the club’s October Player of the Month deserves.

Whether he’ll get on the pitch against Ireland or Serbia remains to be seen.

But at least he is back in the picture.
