Wolves fans pleasantly surprised after seeing footage of Sasa Kalajdzic’s goal vs Santa Clara, ‘hang on a minute’…

Sasa Kalajdzic is a player many Wolves fans want to see get back on track.

The Austrian striker has had a hugely unfortunate spell at Molineux since joining the club in 2022 from Stuttgart, with injuries robbing limiting him to just 14 appearances so far.

Sasa Kalajdzic famously suffered one ACL injury in his debut against Southampton, and then another midway through the 2023/24 season, shortly after joining Eintracht Frankfurt on loan.

He’s had three ACL injuries now in his career. One is bad enough, but having had three is truly horrendous.

So plenty are hoping to see him kick on now, whether that’s at Wolves or at another club.

Kalajdzic has been tipped to leave Wolves on loan, but he has made an impression so far out in Portugal – and footage of his goal today against Santa Clara has now been made public.

Kalajdzic scoring goals is sadly not something we have seen very often because of his rotten injury luck.

He’s bagged just three times for Wolves since his move in 2022.

But he was on target against Santa Clara in the 2-1 defeat out in Portugal, and journalist Liam Keen had praised Kalajdzic for taking his goal well.

And Wolves have actually now shared footage of his goal on social media – and it was indeed well taken, with several fans noting how sharp he looked as he won the ball and finished with aplomb.

@Lonl__: “Hang on a minute.”

@jay_wwfc07: “Just me or does he look a lot more agile?”

@hector_rubini: “That’s class tbh.”

@CraigSimon1978: “Some nice foot work.”

@MolineuxExpress: “Lovely finish from the big man there. Looks sharpish. If he stays fully fit this pre-season for Wolves, I’d say it’s worth keeping him around as a backup for JSL. Especially as Wolves never had a true backup for Strand Larsen last season.”

@stevep_1973: “Sharp. Great to see.”

Kalajdzic deserves a football renaissance

We don’t know yet whether Kalajdzic will be at Wolves for the 2025/26 campaign.

The suggestions have been that a loan exit could be more likely than him staying put, with Kalajdzic himself even hinting at a temporary exit.

But we will see what happens.

Irrespective of anything, Kalajdzic just deserves to enjoy playing football again after his nightmare past few years with injuries.

He always comes across so likeable in behind the scenes footage that Wolves release to fans and he really does deserve a renaissance in football.
