Wolves fans feel a new managerial candidate may have just emerged in Brendan Rodgers, as pressure mounts on Vitor Pereira.
Wolves are in a world of trouble at the moment, sitting rock bottom of the Premier League and still winless.
With just two points on the board and having lost to all three newly promoted clubs, there is great concern about the fate of the team this season.
There were some unsavoury scenes after Sunday’s defeat to Burnley at Molineux, with supporters in the South Bank letting rip at Vitor Pereira and the players.
Pereira’s job appears to be safe for now, but the pressure has cranked up massively. He needs results, and quickly, if he is to stay in his post.
Even more Wolves fans are now Pereira Out after Sunday’s loss – and some believe Brendan Rodgers could be a good replacement.
Wolves fans suggest Brendan Rodgers to replace Vitor Pereira

Last night, there was a big news as Brendan Rodgers sensationally resigned as Celtic manager.
It came after he had overseen a 3-1 loss to Hearts, who went eight points clear at the top of the Scottish Premier League table.
Rodgers exit is messy, with Celtic’s majority shareholder Dermot Desmond launching a blistering attack on Rodgers’ character.
Via BBC Sport, Desmond has accused him of ‘spinning things in public that did not tally with reality’.
Rodgers’ words ‘have contributed to a toxic atmosphere around the club and fuelled hostility towards members of the executive team and the board’.
Despite this messy exit for Rodgers, some Wolves fans feel he could make for a good replacement for Pereira at Molineux.
@ThePavFM: “@Wolves for the love of everything. Give him whatever he wants #wwfc
@LukeWwfc27: “Let’s be honest we can’t do much better.”
@Wolves_OD: “Do it Jeff.”
@gricey88: “I was only thinking last week he could possibly do a job here.”
@Lem_WWFC: “Go get him fellas.”
Wolves manager job is a poisoned chalice
So Rodgers is now out of work and some are keen to see him replace Pereira.
He has of course succeeded in the Premier League before, having had spells at Swansea City, Liverpool and Leicester City, but the claims made in a scathing statement (via Celtic) by Desmond would be a concern.
Ultimately though, Rodgers could come in and the likelihood is that things wouldn’t change too much at Molineux.
Brendan Rodgers’ Premier League record
Games managed – 312
Wins – 139
Draws – 71
Losses – 102
Win percentage – 44.5%
Sure, the new manager bounce theory could take effect, and Rodgers could help steer Wolves away from the relegation zone.
But Pereira, Gary O’Neil and Julen Lopetegui all enjoyed honeymoon periods before things came crashing down due to not being able to push on.
All three were not blameless and made mistakes. But while Fosun are at the helm, it will be incredibly difficult for Wolves to achieve anything other than merely surviving.
