Raul Jimenez’s goal on Sunday was a brilliant moment not just for Wolves supporters, but for all fans of football.

The Mexican has had to work very hard to come back from the awful head injury he sustained last season.

It is almost a year on from that game against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

Few will be able to forget the harrowing scenes as Jimenez lay on the ground after clashing heads with David Luiz.

Jimenez could have lost his life had it not been for fast-acting medics that evening, but thankfully he has been able to recover from the incident and resume his playing career.

His goal against the Saints came 336 days after his last in the Premier League – a stunning strike from outside the area against Newcastle United.

He took it amazingly, to prompt scenes of pure jubilation in the away end at St. Mary’s Stadium.

Cameras picked up the reaction of some Wolves players that were far away from the action as Jimenez wheeled away in celebration.

Conor Coady and Jose Sa were seen embracing, and today the official Wolves social media accounts have had some fun with the images.

On the Instagram post, they have set the slow-mo clip with Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes’ ‘The Time Of My Life’ from Dirty Dancing playing in the background.
