Wolves fans know exactly what should happen with Mario Lemina after latest Vitor Pereira comments

With just two days left of the January transfer window, Wolves find themselves in a familiar position.

Vitor Pereira’s men are inside the relegation zone by a point but despite their struggles this term, have only made one signing – Emmanuel Agbadou’s £15m transfer from Reims.

Pereira made it clear he wants three more players this month and as it stands, Wolves are set for a frantic transfer deadline day.

On Friday, Pereira aimed a subtle dig at Fosun, urging the Wolves owner to ‘increase the level’ and pace of their business.

The Portuguese boss was also asked about midfielder Mario Lemina, who has constantly been linked with a move away from Molineux, prompting a strong reaction from the fans.

Wolves fans want Mario Lemina never to play for the club again

Lemina issued a desire to leave Wolves earlier this month. The Gabon international had interest from several clubs, most notably from Saudi Arabian side Al Shabab and Turkish giants Galatasaray.

However, with the Saudi Arabian window now shut, a move to the Middle East is off the cards for the 31-year-old and time is running out for him to complete a transfer elsewhere.

Since the midfielder burned bridges with the fans after Lemina refused to play against Newcastle, Wolves supporters want him to exit the club.

Weeks have passed since he made that decision but the fans aren’t turning back on their decision, even after Joao Gomes’ suspension could have opened the door for him to play.

“Sorry don’t want to see him again in a Wolves shirt however desperate we are, the rat tried to force a move purely money motivated,” one fan angrily wrote.

“Absolutely not, and it’s the saddest indictment yet of this ownership that Pereira is put in a position where he may once again need to play him,” another responded.

“Wants to help? I’m not getting that impression for some reason,” a third replied.

“Downed tools when he was captain and needed to lead from the front. Not fit to lace the boots of some that came before him, would gladly release him from his contract,” a fifth outlined.

“Personally never want to see him anywhere near the first team ever again,” another fan wrote while seventh commented: “With all due respect I don’t want to see him play for us again, no better than Nunes with the way he’s acted.”

Lemina staying at Wolves would be a travesty

Wolves are embroiled in a relegation battle in the Premier League. Pereira needs everyone onside as a result, pulling in the right direction.

Unfortunately, when Lemina spat his dummy out and refused to play in the clash against the Magpies, the experienced midfielder made his bed and now has to lay in it.

He’s gone from being one of the heroes at Wolves to becoming a bad egg in the squad, and that is the recipe for disaster in a relegation battle.

While Pereira hasn’t ruled out reintegrating Lemina into the squad once the window shuts, supporters will be praying a conclusion to his future is reached, and that requires him to leave the club.
