Many Wolves fans had the same response to a new post from Joao Gomes on social media.
Joao Gomes is currently gearing up for the first game of the Rob Edwards era on Saturday, with Crystal Palace coming to Molineux.
Edwards has not been able to work with a full squad since taking his first training session on Monday, but those who have been away on international duty will now return to hopefully make an impression on the new manager.
How much is Joao Gomes worth in today’s market?
One man who didn’t go away for the international break though was Joao Gomes, who – along with Andre – was left out of the latest Brazil squad by Carlo Ancelotti.
That will have been a disappointment. But Gomes will surely use that setback as fuel to improve, which can only be a positive for Wolves.
Gomes has been quite communicative in recent weeks amid the team’s struggles.
He has often put out messages on social media, and supporters have appreciated that – and last night, many had a wish following a new message from Gomes.
Wolves fans wish Joao Gomes was captain

There is no denying how much Gomes cares about Wolves.
He has experienced some tough moments since he came to the club from Flamengo in January 2023.
But never once has he given less than 100%, and you can often see the anguish on his face when Wolves have lost or he hasn’t had the best of games.
Gomes has teased something coming up, writing: “Really excited about this new project, you’ll find out soon 🗣️❤️”
Of course, we will have to wait and see what the new project is exactly, but several fans took the opportunity to wish that he was Wolves’ captain.
@Chris_Reade: “You going to be the captain 🐺”
@70sh: “Wolves captain.”
@MitchDavis_1: ‘New Wolves Captain.”
@benbwwfc19: “Wolves official captain?”
@Janderson1394: “Captain 👀”
Needless to say, his replies were also flooded with Manchester United fans pleading with him to join the Red Devils.
Manchester United hold an interest in Gomes, although a January move is thought to be unlikely.
Joao Gomes becoming captain would be a big call from Rob Edwards

This new project that Gomes is teasing could well be something personal.
It would certainly be a bold move by Edwards to make Gomes Wolves’ new captain, although fans have been frustrated to see the armband passed from pillar to post this season.
Toti Gomes is Wolves’ official club captain. But the defender is no longer a regular in the starting XI, or at least he hasn’t been for the past couple of months.
Joao Gomes has never hidden his love for the Wolves fans
Ideally, your captain needs to be on the field at all times, and it’s rare that Gomes does not play for Wolves.
And he certainly behaves like a captain so we’ll see what happens.
It feels unlikely, however it cannot be ruled out that Wolves’ captain will change mid-season for the second campaign in a row,
