Wolves fans have made their thoughts known after hearing the latest round of transfer news at Molineux.
The summer started so positively for the Old Gold, as three bright young talents in Rodrigo Gomes, Pedro Lima and Jorgen Strand Larsen were acquired.
Gary O’Neil and Matt Hobbs got to work early in the window however, as time has passed, little movement has happened.
The issue is that since the trio arrived, first-team stars Pedro Neto and Max Kilman have departed, with no replacement for either player identified yet.
Three days of the summer transfer window remain and fear is starting to set in following the woes that Wolves faced last year, having lost key players without finding a replacement.
Matters are not being made easier by the recent transfer activity at the club, with goalkeeper Sam Johnstone set to sign, as well as 18-year-old centre-back Bastien Meupiyou and now, rising star Ethan Sutherland.
While Sutherland, who is expected to arrive from St Mirren in the coming days, is one for the future, fans have made it clear that they’re unhappy with the transfer.

Wolves fans have a clear message to Matt Hobbs after Ethan Sutherland update
Journalist Liam Keen reported that Wolves had struck a deal for Sutherland, who will join the U21’s side when he arrives at Molineux.
Fans swarmed to react to the latest round of transfer activity on X, expressing their anger at the type of player that the club seem to be prioritising.
“Great business by the club signing more wingers and U21’s when we’ve conceded 8 goals in two games and no news of experienced CB’s on the way in…. Smart business.”
Another fan said, “No first-team additions. Great,” while another added, “This is ridiculous. Focus on first-team signings.”
“Trying to be excited about stuff but they are making it really really tough. Will we be playing none at the back until January now?”
Fans are clearly concerned about the state of the squad at present, with a dire need for defensive depth and another body to occupy the right wing.
One supporter criticised Wolves’ capture of Sutherland with this in mind, “It’s first teamers we need. You can’t keep selling 100m of players every summer and expect to get away with it.”
The fan’s concerns ring true, as it was only last summer that Wolves suffered a mass exile of talent, only to suffer the consequences of having limited depth in the latter stages of 2023/24.
“Think their priorities are all over the place. No immediate solutions and faffing about buying young, inexperienced players,” one Wolves follower said, a statement agreed by another.
“I usually don’t mind young players coming in but we need experienced proven quality now. Our owners are becoming a complete joke among the fan base now. Sad after the good times under Nuno.”
Fuelled by the lack of time that Wolves have to make the necessary changes to the squad before Friday night’s deadline, supporters took aim.
“We are a joke club,” one fan said, with another admitting that they fail to understand the decision to keep signing inexperienced players.
“I really don’t understand the strategy behind buying players that we never really play and ultimately will sell for very little.”
Time is running out for Wolves
It’s an incredibly difficult time for Wolves, which was echoed by the fans’ concern over how the squad is looking going into the 2024/25 campaign.
Last season was similar however, the club were fuelled by the fresh outlook of O’Neil, a sense of relief that is beginning to expire.
Wolves lost their opening two games of the Premier League calendar, conceding eight goals with huge concerns in defence coming to light, yet no sign of fixing things in the market as of yet.
It’s clear why the club’s loyal supporters are in a state of despair, with so much more needing to be done in the three days remaining of the transfer window.
