Mateus Mane was handed a new contract when he turned 18, and that news has gone down well with Wolves supporters.
The 18-year-old has been a breakthrough star, and Hwang Hee-chan believes he can reach the very top.
Additionally, Rob Edwards’ comments on Mane are certainly refreshing, and it bodes well for the rest of the season.
There have been suggestions Mane could leave Wolves in the event of relegation, which would undoubtedly be terrible news for the club.
However, Mane’s new contract should put that all to bed, and fans have been telling us how they feel about the decision.

Wolves fans react to Mateus Mane’s next contract

Wolves fans have been telling us via our TalkingPoints platform how they feel about Mateus Mane’s newly shared contract.
It is safe to say that supporters are overwhelmingly positive about it.
One fan claims, “Best bit of business for years. Now promote a few more enthusiastic youngsters. Seeing him enjoying his games has obviously made the rest of the squad want to enjoy their time on the pitch. If we can play like that consistently until the end of the season, he will be responsible.”
“Finally some good business from Wolves! Could he even be another Bully? Players are sold these days before they can reach legend status. I reckon Neves was our last one..” another echoed.
A third commented, “Breath easier ..this lads a ‘must keep’…. COYW.”
Which was followed up with one stating, “Fantastic! If we go down, he’ll no doubt win Championship player of the season next year, and we will come straight back up with him!”
Meanwhile, a sixth fan made a bold prediction about the future of the player by saying, “He must be a future captain. He needs another 3 to 4 years, and then trust him with the armband.”

Wolves were proactive in Mateus Mane deal

While many fans expected Mateus Mane to be a star, as shown by the months of them calling for him to play, the Old Gold were certainly proactive in locking him down until 2029.
Even if Wolves knew how good the player could become, the rest of the footballing world has now been put on notice.
With his previous deal ending in 2027, there was always a chance of another side coming in and whispering into his ear about potentially leaving Molineux.
However, now the Old Gold holds all the cards, and it would be a ridiculous and utterly idiotic decision to sell him anytime soon, but the ownership has been known to cash in, with Morgan Gibbs-White a prime example.
Mane is one of our own, and he is making himself the star of this team already.
Mateus Mane can be the future of Wolves, but Fosun now needs to make sure the Wanderers are in the top flight within the next few years.
Even if Mane loves Wolves, a player of his calibre will not want to stick around for long in the second tier.
