Wolves fans everywhere will surely agree with Steve Bull’s view of Burnley clash

Wolves are back in Premier League action today against Burnley, and what club legend Steve Bull has said about the game will surely resonate with many.

After facing Sunderland last weekend and losing, Wolves take on another newly promoted side in Burnley – and there is no overstating how big today’s game is.

Scott Parker’s side beat Leeds United 2-0 last weekend to move onto seven points in the Premier League.

They will see this game as an opportunity for back-to-back wins.

But Wolves simply cannot allow this to happen, with Pereira having suggested Burnley is must-win.

And that is a sentiment club legend Steve Bull has echoed in his latest E&S column.

Wolves are currently five points adrift of safety, and cannot afford for that gap to increase.

Of course, there is still a lot of time left to turn things around this season, as Pereira pointed out earlier this week.

But losing to Burnley today would likely be psychologically damaging, so Pereira has to find a way to get three points.

Pereira has sent a defiant message to his Wolves players ahead of today’s game, so hopefully they will all stand up and be counted.

For Wolves legend Steve Bull, there is no doubt that today’s game is must-win – and he has insisted it doesn’t matter how it comes, just that it does.

He said (via E&S): “Wolves need to beat Burnley to keep hopes alive of avoiding relegation.

“It doesn’t bother me if it’s a scrappy 1-0 win or comfortable 3-0 victory, we just need three points on the board.

“Burnley will not be an easy test and if we’re complacent they will turn us over. We have to fight for the result and get that first win.

“Getting the win would help build the confidence and spirit in the side and in the fans as well, because the supporters will be so important.”

Bull warns that Wolves fans will turn in event of Burnley defeat

Wolves are in real trouble at the moment, with some fans questioning whether Pereira is the right man to turn things around.

That defeat to Sunderland was particularly damaging, as there were big expectations after the improvements we saw against Tottenham Hotspur and Brighton.

Losing today against Burnley at home is rather unthinkable.

And Bull believes that happening could really see a number of fans turn, adding: “In many ways, the manager and players only have themselves to blame. They all have to stick together and get us out of this mess.

“It was a very average performance from a team I think will be down there this season.

“I hope it was just an off-day because the Burnley game is huge and we have to win it.

“Otherwise I think the fans will turn, the players will lose their heads and the inevitable might be around the corner.”

It is paramount that Wolves start quickly against Burnley, get the fans onside and really take the game to the Clarets.
