The third international break of the season is now in session, and Wolves fans have taken stock of the 2021/22 campaign so far under Bruno Lage.

The club currently sit eighth in the Premier League table, having picked up 16 points from 11 games.

But the league is tight.

A couple more bad results, like the defeat to Crystal Palace, will pull Wolves right down.

14th-placed Southampton are only two points further back.

And 18th-placed Burnley currently sit on 10 points.

Up next for Wolves is West Ham United, who are flying high in the Premier League this season.

Then two big games follow against Norwich City and Burnley.

Who knows how Wolves will fare in those matches.

It really has been a strange season so far.

There has been a lot to like about Wolves, who have shown glimpses of brilliant attacking football under Lage.

But the manager has not played that way every game, and has, on occasion, set the team up to invite pressure.

Unsurprisingly, opinions seem to be very mixed at this stage.

People can certainly see potential with him. But there are others who still have their reservations and don’t view him as any better than Nuno Espirito Santo.
