Jeff Shi trusted that the 57-year-old was the right man to turn things around, but the dismal performance at Craven Cottage appeared to be the final straw.
The news that supporters have been waiting for has now arrived, and they were quick to react. However, Vitor Pereira is not the only man they want to see go, and Jeff Shi was the other name among conversations.
One fan said, “He was dealt the worst possible hand. Inevitable with no win since April. Shi needs to be replaced with someone who knows football. Then investment in the team, which I doubt will happen, so new owners are needed.”
With another backing that sentiment, “This will have no impact unless Shi is replaced and a manager comes with experience and knowledge of this league. If not, then same thing this time next year…”
A different Wolves fan said, “Feel sorry for him but he had a lot to do with the recruitment and so far it looks to have been shambolic I hope they don’t think this will take our eyes off the board, though. Teti and Jeff should swiftly follow.”
And that was followed by a supporter stating, “Will Shi also be sacked for giving him a new deal and over seeing the shocking transfers!”
More supporters echoed those thoughts with multiple shouts of “Jeff Shi next” plastered over social media.
A search for Vitor Pereira’s replacement will now begin, but perhaps the club would also be wise to make some changes at the board level too.

Jeff Shi’s decision to hand Vitor Pereira a new contract was completely ridiculous, and it has taken just over a month for that to prove to be the case.
The chairman has shown time and time again that he cannot make the right decisions for the football club, and his comments on the transfer window were out of touch.
Wolves will face the same issues over and over again as long as the same people remain in charge.
Vitor Pereira proved he was a top-quality head coach, but the environment swallowed him up and ate him out just as it had done to previous managers.
