Wolves fans weren’t happy with how transfer deadline day went – but the club did at least land a new striker in Tolu Arokodare.
The Nigerian arrived from Genk in a deal that could reach £24 million, and will provide cover and competition for Jorgen Strand Larsen
Eventually, he may also play as his partner in attack.
Arokodare has suggested he’s similar to Strand Larsen, and fans will hope he can make a similar kind of impact to what the Norwegian did in his first term at Molineux.
Arokodare has briefly told fans his style, stating that he is fast and physical and believes he’ll be a good fit for the Premier League, and ideally he’ll get off the mark as quickly as possible.
At £24 million, there are fairly big expectations on Tolu Arokodare.
His transfer puts him in Wolves’ top 10 most expensive ever signings, and that does bring about a bit of pressure.
But Arokodare will hopefully live up to his billing, and some fans like what they’re seeing already.
Wolves fans love how Tolu Arokodare carried himself on first day at Molineux

Arokodare was announced on deadline day.
But most of the groundwork was done the day before by Wolves, after he flew in from Belgium.
He was at Compton Park to do all his physical tests and media duties, and to of course sign his contract. He then headed over to Molineux to take in his new home stadium.
Wolves have released a video of Arokodare’s first day at Compton, and Wolves fans love the way the new signing comes across, believing he’s a really good character.
@Onahi_: “He has mad aura.”
@tod1877: “Great video, Tolu looks a right character and just what we need 👊🏾”
@StefanWolves90: “Right, he’s gonna be a fan favourite! Love him.”
@fedsgotJayden: “I love this man already.”
@stu_polak82: “Love him already. Seems like a great character who will bring so much to the squad. #wwfc”
Arokodare is a positive signing for Wolves
Arokodare does come across great in the behind the scenes video that Wolves have put out.
He looks to be someone with a big personality, and potentially someone the rest of the squad will really warm to.
He arrives at Wolves off the back of a 23-goal season, and last term he was the joint-winner of the Golden Boot in the Belgian top-flight.
It is a positive move by Wolves to get him in, and there is every chance he can be a success.
Hopefully, the supply to him will be there – that is the big concern a lot of fans have at the moment.
Hugo Bueno could help Arokodare thrive given his crossing ability, but other players like Jhon Arias and Fer Lopez will also need to show creativity to help the Nigerian hit the ground running.
