Wolves fans are not happy with one new report about Fosun and Gary O’Neil ahead of Southampton clash

Wolves have a simply huge game this weekend against Southampton – and one report ahead of the game has not gone down well with some.

Wanderers are in a very concerning predicament right now, having still not won in the Premier League after 10 games.

Gary O’Neil has taken just three points so far, although fixtures have been incredibly tough.

A lot of Wolves fans are now looking for Wolves to make a managerial change, given the alarming run of just one win in 20 Premier League games.

The 27 goals conceded so far this season in the league is also one reason many fans have run out of patience.

But there is still support for the Wolves manager from some in the media. Darren Bent backed Wolves to survive under Gary O’Neil, feeling the club are in a bit of a false position right now.

Simon Jordan has also defended O’Neil, believing the players are still ‘clearly’ playing for the head coach.

For many fans, beating Southampton is absolutely essential.

However, it seems those sentiments are not particularly shared by those at the top at Wolves.

The Telegraph have reported that ‘defeat to Southampton, plus a poor team performance, could leave the hierarchy with a decision to make over the international break’.

Fosun and Matt Hobbs are said to be ‘extremely reluctant’ to dismiss O’Neil.

So far this week, there have been no suggestions that this is definitely last-chance saloon for the manager.

Wolves fans are not happy

On social media, Wolves fans have been digesting this morning’s report from the Telegraph.

Some are struggling to accept the stance of Fosun, given the club are currently on such a poor run.

For many, this game with Southampton should be seen as must-win by the hierarchy and O’Neil should probably lose his job if he does not take all three points.

Wolves should sack O’Neil if he doesn’t beat Southampton

It is now very difficult to make a case for O’Neil to keep his choice if he does not guide Wolves to a first Premier League win of the season against Southampton.

With an international break coming up, it would be a good time to make a change, so the new man can have that period to come in and work with some of the players.

It is clear that Fosun and Hobbs really want to believe in O’Neil but, they would be playing with fire by keeping him if he doesn’t beat Southampton.

Often, social media is not representative of real life, and some takes from football fans online can be extreme and reactionary. But there were chants of ‘You don’t know what you’re doing’ on Saturday against Crystal Palace and also some booing.

Resistance to O’Neil is now present at Molineux, and the hierarchy must acknowledge that.
