Wolves fans are making the same point after seeing Igor Jesus transfer rumour

Wolves fans have today been reacting to a new claim that the club are potentially interested in a move for Brazil international Igor Jesus.

Wolves are monitoring Jesus, as are fellow Premier League clubs Everton and Nottingham Forest.

There is already a strong Brazilian contingent at Molineux. In recent years, the club have brought Matheus Cunha and Joao Gomes to the club, with Pedro Lima and Andre signing in the summer just gone.

Potentially, that could be something that helps Wolves in any transfer pursuit this summer.

The link to Jesus is very interesting.

He’s a player who’s had a really productive 2024, having scored 25 goals in total for clubs (Shabab Al Ahli and Botafogo) and country.

He’s managed to work his way into the Brazil squad under Dorival Junior, so he clearly has something about him.

But a number of Wolves fans have been making the same point having read the claim about Jesus, which was made late last night.

The main issue this season for Wolves has been clear.

Wanderers just haven’t been able to keep the ball out of their own net, having shipped an alarming 36 goals in the Premier League so far.

Wolves have also managed just one league clean sheet all season.

By contrast, Wolves have done well in the final third and have scored 22 goals – only nine teams have managed more in the league so far.

A number of Wolves fans feel that Jesus is simply a player the squad doesn’t need.

Goncalo Guedes to leave Wolves?

Wolves fans make a good point about Jesus – on the face of it, he is not a player the squad desperately need.

However, in recent weeks, there has been speculation Goncalo Guedes is a target for Villarreal, who took him on loan last season.

Guedes has largely done well this season when called upon, contributing four goals and two assists in just 363 minutes of game time.

Goncalo Guedes for Wolves this season
Appearances – 13
Minutes played – 363
Goals – 4
Assists – 2

But apparently, Guedes would be open to joining Villarreal, so if he’s going to go then Wolves could with a replacement. We all saw how injuries took hold of the squad last season.

But if there are no plans to allow Guedes to leave, then Wolves have zero need for Jesus.
