Wolves fans are in complete agreement after Leicester lose to West Ham – one thing is clear

Wolves are battling against Leicester City and Ipswich Town for the spot just above the relegation zone and are currently winning that respective tussle.

Although Wolves lost 2-1 against Fulham on Tuesday night, neither Ipswich Town or Leicester City could capitalise to close the gap to two points.

Ipswich played an entertaining match against Manchester United, losing 3-2, while Leicester were comfortably beaten 2-0 by West Ham.

Heading into Wolves FA Cup clash at Bournemouth, Vitor Pereira’s men have a five-point cushion on the 18th place Tractor Boys, yet 10 points separate them from 16th place Everton.

The best the Wanderers can hope for this term is finishing just above the dotted line, and supporters had a lot to say after Leicester lost to the Hammers on Thursday night.

Wolves fans react to Leicester City’s loss against West Ham

Watching Wolves go from competing in the Europa League in 2019 to constantly battling against relegation has been a sad decline.

Supporters realise that Fosun are the main reason why they’ve plummeted down the table, and although Leicester’s defeat helped them in the battle against relegation, fans aren’t prepared to let that distract them from what an awful season it’s been.

“Can’t see either Ipswich or Leics getting more than 11 points so 8 more points will do it. But any relief shouldn’t hide what a crap season it’s been & the club needs a real shift in attitude,” one fan wrote.

“It’s tragic that we’re reliant on Leicester losing when they’re this bad,” another replied.

“Our hope is 3 more new weaker teams will join the league again. With Cunha likely to go in the summer, what’s the plan? Same again next time,” a third said.

“We are literally playing all of those teams in our next set of games. Stop worrying about other teams results, if we can’t stay up ahead of that bottom 3 we absolutely deserve to go down,” another pointed out.

“We gotta beat Southampton, Ipswich & Leicester at least,” a sixth commented while a seventh wrote: “30 points will be enough, if we don’t get that we deserve to go down… simple.”

FA Cup glory would be excellent for Wolves

The above comments suggest that fans are confident that winning at least three more matches should see Wolves safe for another season.

It’s hard to see Leicester and Ipswich earning enough points to leapfrog Pereira’s men and avoid relegation.

So, with some of the pressure relieved, perhaps reaching the latter stages of the FA Cup can give the fans some rare joy.

Wolves reached the quarter-finals of the FA Cup last season before being knocked out by Coventry, and winning for the second weekend running at Bournemouth would see them get to that stage.

It’s not going to be an easy game by any stretch, but supporters will be praying that their run in this competition continues, as they’re getting sick of watching a relegation battle unfold every season.
